C010 - Dermatology Review: General

Saturday, March 2; 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Learning Objectives

Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Correlate the autoantibodies found in patients with dermatomyositis with clinical manifestations
  • Identify the major forms of autoinflammatory diseases.
  • Recognize the cutaneous side effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors as well as kinase inhibitors

Description

In this session, topics of interest to dermatologists will be presented where there have been significant advances or updates. In particular, the concept of auto-inflammatory diseases will be reviewed, along with the cutaneous findings that point to their presence. New sources of allergens as well as infections with skin manifestations continue to appear in the 21st century and dermatologists need to be kept up-to-date. In patients with dermatomyositis, a correlation of recently recognized autoantibodies with more specific clinical findings has become apparent and will be reviewed. Lastly, the explosion in systemic therapies for melanoma, including stage III disease, will be presented.
