Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Discuss features of high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma
  • Describe the various staging systems for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma
  • Formulate a management plan for high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma including the role of radiologic imaging, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and adjuvant treatments

Description

High-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) present multiple management challenges. This interactive session takes a case-based, evidence-based, approach to management of high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. The topics that the session will explore include review of the features of high-risk cSCC and the various staging systems, clinical outcomes of high-risk cSCC, impact of perineural invasion, management of in-transit metastasis, role of preoperative imaging, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and adjuvant treatments. This activity has been approved by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) for up to 10 MOC Component 2 Self-Assessment points.
