Learning Objectives

Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Discuss the known comorbidities associated with psoriatic disease
  • Describe the pathophysiology and epidemiology that underlies the comorbidities
  • Determine if treatments or lifestyle changes can modify comorbidities


We will discuss the incidence and pathophysiology of the common comorbidites associated with psoriatic disease. We will then discuss if treatment of the skin or lifestyle changes can modify these comorbidities. We will also present some new emerging comorbidites. Dr Nehal Mehta will discuss his approach to the psoriatic patient from the perspective of a Cardiologist and then provide an update on his research at the National Institiutes of Health (NIH).
