Learning Objectives

Following this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Effectively diagnose a variety of medical dermatology conditions encountered in clinical practice (including autoimmune connective tissue disease, immunobullous disease, cutaneous vasculitis, recurrent orofacial swelling, and other complex medical dermatology conditions of the outpatient and hospital setting)
  • Effectively evaluate a variety of medical dermatology conditions encountered in clinical practice (including autoimmune connective tissue disease, immunobullous disease, cutaneous vasculitis, recurrent orofacial swelling, and other complex medical dermatology conditions of the outpatient and hospital setting)
  • Effectively treat and manage a variety of medical dermatology conditions encountered in clinical practice (including autoimmune connective tissue disease, immunobullous disease, cutaneous vasculitis, recurrent orofacial swelling, and other complex medical dermatology conditions of the outpatient and hospital setting)

Description

The focus of this symposium will be clinically-relevant pearls related to the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of various conditions in medical dermatology. Several topics will be discussed including autoimmune connective tissue diseases; immunobullous diseases; cutaneous vasculitis; recurrent orofacial swelling; clinicopathologic correlation within medical dermatology; and various complex medical dermatologic conditions encountered within outpatient and hospital dermatology. Learning objectives will be attained through a mixture of case-based and topic-based formats. The desired outcome of the symposium is to deliver a breadth of clinical pearls that dermatologists can take back to their clinical practices to improve patient care.
